Let there be peace...

China had recently passed the anti-secession law aimed at Taiwan's separatist groupe. This act leagalizes any military means to prevent Taiwan declearing independance if it chooses to do so.

Taiwan's situation is the legacy of internal civil warfare in the 1940s, it needs to be resolved eventually and the communist party simply will not tolerate the possibility that it will declare independence.

This law is not a threat of war, but a very direct warning to the Taiwan government. I am no politician but I do hope the Taiwan government will shift their efforts from trying to declear independence to negociate the possiblity of a peaceful outcome.

After all, no one wants to see missiles flying across the Taiwan strait.
